Frequently Asked Questions

  • No! Virginia is a Direct Access state. This allows patients to access physical therapy without a referral from their doctor. Research is even showing that starting physical therapy sooner leads to improved outcomes for patients!

  • Elite Performance Physical Therapy PLLC is an out-of-network provider, operating through a fee-for-service model.

The out-of-network model allows for our mobile model, and allows patients to have one-on-one, hour long sessions directly with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Payment is accepted in full at the time of service. Patients can request a "super-bill" invoice that they can submit to insurance for reimbursement.

  • Elite Performance Physical Therapy is considered "non-enrolled" with Medicare, which means we have no relationship or contract with Medicare. Unfortunately this means that we do not bill to Medicare and patients are not allowed to submit for reimbursement.

Medicare patients are allowed to seek care for services considered "not medically necessary". Please contact us if you are a Medicare patient interested in participating in a Wellness Visit.

  • Elite Performance Physical Therapy offers you the flexibility of clinic or mobile visits. We offer sessions in our clinic space in Potomac Falls, VA, as well as sessions in the comfort of your home, at your gym, your local track, or even your workplace.

  • The goal of our Wellness Visits is to help patients move better and perform at a higher functional level. This is a great option for Medicare patients as Medicare will allow you to pay out of pocket for these services since they do not consider them medically necessary. Wellness visits include a thorough evaluation of current movement patterns, mobility, balance, and strength. Each visit is customized to the individual's goals and functional deficits to help you move better and become more resilient to injury!

  • Dr. Sarah Bellman is a Pose Method® Certified Running Technique Specialist. She is dedicated to teaching the skills and technique of running to help patients avoid pain and injury, and run more efficiently.

We will then take the time to review ideal running form and technique. Based on your individual needs as assessed during the session, you will be taught drills and exercises that will allow you to run most efficiently. Most patients will follow up with 2-5 additional visits to check progress and progress drills and strengthening corrective exercises.

We also offer virtual running assessments. Please reach out for more information.

This has been found to create changes to the muscle, including improved mobility of the muscle tissue and decreased pain. Dry needling is used in conjunction with other manual therapy techniques, and corrective and functional exercises. Have more questions or are wondering if you are a candidate for dry needling?
